K.A.A. Gent lost at home to Racing Genk (K.R.C. Genk) this weekend in Belgian First Division action.
The contest, which ended 3-2 in favor of Racing Genk, only saw one goal before halftime. Hungarian midfielder Balazs Jozsef Toth scored in the 40th minute of play for Racing.
The crowd at the Jules Ottenstadion witnessed an offensive outburst in the second half as 21-year-old Marvin Ogunjimi put Racing Genk ahead 2-0. While on loan last season at Dutch side RKC Waalwijk, Ogunjimi netted 10 league goals.
Samba defender João Carlos capped Racing Genk's day when he scored the club's third goal.
Down 3-0, K.A.A. Gent stormed back with two goals. Irishman Dominic Foley scored just after Carlos' goal and in the 73rd minute, Togolese international Adékambi Olufadé brought De Buffalos back to within one goal.
Alas, Racing Genk held on for the crucial three points.
Racing Genk now sits 4th in the Belgian First Division table with Gent situated in the 9th spot.
