Well the FA Cup 4th round is over and it's time to see how my predictions compared!
Derby 1-1 Nottingham Forest
My Prediction: 1-1
Pretty happy to get this one spot on! It was a pretty good game of football, and I now expect Forest to win at their place to win the chance to host Man Utd.
Replay Prediction: 2-1
Hartlepool 0-2 West Ham
My Prediction: 0-2
Spot on! In the end Hartlepool did well but West Ham simply out played them.
Chelsea 3-1 Ipswich
My Prediction: 2-0
So I didn't get it perfect but I got the score right! Although the scoreline reads 3-1 if it was not for a couple of quality set pieces this one could have been closer - I don't think this was the Chelsea performance fans wanted to see.
Doncaster 0-0 Aston Villa
My Prediction: 0-2
Delighted to see my home club get a draw, and they deserved it, they were not shadowed by Villa and even if the replay is too much for them I hope they enjoy it. Villa at home will be too strong.
Replay Prediction: 3-0
Hull 2-0 Millwall
My Prediction: 1-0
A solid win for Hull here, never really in trouble, shame about the violence with the Millwall fans though.
Kettering 2-4 Fulham
My Prediction: 0-1
The score shows a comfortable Fulham win but up until the 87th minute it was equal at 2-2. Kettering did everything right, dug deep, fought hard and went for everything, and I was gutted to see Fulham score so late on.
Portsmouth 0-2 Swansea
My Prediction: 1-0
Wow! This is the first match I predicted the wrong result - but can you blame me? Portsmouth worry me now - they just looked like they didn't care - and even worse, as they were the holders! The worse thing is though, that Swansea matched them and deserved all 3 points. Pompey didn't show. Would not be surprised if they start to slide into the bottom 3 now.
Sheffield Utd 2-1 Charlton
My Prediction: 2-1
Perfect! Sheffield dominated the game and Charlton only scored late on - for them the main aim is survival so I think they will not be too bothered about the result today.
Sunderland 0-0 Blackburn
My Prediction: 1-1
Just a drab game really, Sunderland created the best chances but couldn't take them. At Ewood Park, Blackburn will be too strong for Sunderland.
Replay Prediction: 1-0
Torquay 0-1 Coventry
My Prediction: 1-0
Torquay should have won this game. They were all over Coventry but could not find the net, and in the end Coventry scored on one of the few occassions they got forward. Chris Coleman should be very relieved, his side did not deserve anything from the game.
Watford 4-3 Crystal Palace
My Prediction: 1-2
This is a good result for Watford, and fans might hope it gets their team going again as they desperately seek to rise up the table.
West Brom 2-2 Burnley
My Prediction: 2-0
Having been hit by a late, late goal against Spurs, Burnley got one, their 90th minute goal getting them the chance to take on West Brom at their own ground. West Brom will be very upset to have conceded so late - especially as Turf Moor is a stronghold for Burnley right now, and I think Burnley will win.
Replay Prediction: 2-1
Wolves 1-2 Middlesbrough
My Prediction: 1-0
A tough game for Boro but they did well to come through in the end - Wolves I feel have missed a big big chance to get into the next round and even further, but for Boro it's a vital win.
Man Utd 2-1 Spurs
My Prediction: 3-0
Spurs went for a stronger side and despite taking the lead never looked like winning. Man Utd took control of the ball and the game and as soon as it was 1-1 you knew what would happen. What was upsetting for Spurs fans was that even late on, and 1-2 down, their team seemed ordered not too attack, almost like damage limitation. Which is a bit strange - why not have a go?
Cardiff 0-0 Arsenal
My Prediction: 0-2
Cardiff matched Arsenal for 75% of the game and I think should have won it - they missed a big chance to create the cupset we all wanted today. However, playing at The Emirates is a different game altogether and Arsenal will be too strong.
Replay Prediction: 2-0
Liverpool 1-1 Everton
My Prediction: 2-2
As expected, it will take another replay to settle these teams as once again they drew one-a-piece. Not a classic Derby but lots of hard work - Everton fully deserving of that point and will fancy their chances at home, especially with Arteta and Fellaini back. I'm backing them to knock Liverpool out - who have not won since Rafa's tirade against Sir Alex. I bet he is laughing.
Replay Prediction: 2-1
So, out of 16 games, I got 3 exact results and 9 correct results.
The FA Cup 5th Round Draw looks like this:
(I'll be doing more predictions nearer the time, but for now this is how the draw looks)
Sheff Utd v Hull
Watford v Chelsea
West Ham v Middlesbrough
Sunderland/ Blackburn v Coventry
Derby/ Nottm Forest v Man Utd
Swansea v Fulham
Liverpool/ Everton v Doncaster/ Aston Villa
Cardiff/ Arsenal v West Brom/ Burnley
