Old Firm Duo Head For Hamilton

Hamilton have completed the loan signings of Celtic forward Paul McGowan, 21, and Rangers defender Jordan McMillan, 20. Both have yet to make an impact on the teamsheets as McGowan has completed two substitute appearances while McMillan is still waiting for his debut at Ibrox.

Manager Billy Reid told Hamilton's official website: "I am delighted to finally secure these two young talented players and would like very much to thank both Rangers and Celtic for their assistance."

The loan deals do not signal the end of their careers at their parent clubs as McMillan has announced that he is expecting to sign a new deal with last season's UEFA Cup finalists. He told the Daily Record "I'm delighted to come to Hamilton and between now and the summer all my focus will be on forcing my way into their side and helping them stay in the SPL. But in the long term I'm contracted to Rangers and I still want to make the breakthrough there. I hope I won't be leaving Rangers and I don't think it will be happening because I'm signing a new deal."

Hamilton are currently standing 10th in the Scottish Premier League and squad additions and strengthenings are pivital for those in the scrap for survival.
