Originating from his native club of Deportivo Quindio, Rodallega departed Columbia to enlist in the squad of Mexico’s Monterrey in 2006 having merited the richly-deserved status as the all-time top goalscorer of the South American U20 Championship. However, it wasn’t until Necaxa swooped for his assumingly-surplus services that he truly blossomed and rediscovered the goalscoring finesse of an endowed striker – a commendable tally of 25 goals in 53 appearances which enticed the watchful eyes from across the Atlantic.
Rodallega’s statistics from the 2008-2009 Premiership season reads as 3 goals, 0 assists and 12 shots on target from 987 minutes of match play."I believe this lad can be a big success, he is quick and strong, with an eye for goal and I am convinced he can adapt to the pace and physicality of the English Premier League," said Steve Bruce in the January transfer window.
