Plotting an immediate restoration to the top pinnacle of the Netherlands, FC Volendam have obtained Dutch defender Wouter Artz on a free transfer from Cercle Brugge and the former Feyenoord youth graduate has signed until June 2012.
Volendam, who finished bottom of last season’s Eredivisie in eighteenth place, will hope Artz brings about the same optimistic prospects as when he joined Excelsior in the 2005-2006 campaign where they topped the table to gain promotion.
