University of Virginia midfielder Tony Tchani, a Generation adidas signee, looks certain to be a top five pick in next week's 2010 Major League Soccer SuperDraft after a strong showing at the league's combine.
Tchani answered some quick questions about: Cameroon's chances at the African Cup of Nations, his penalty kick at the College Cup title game against Akron, and his thoughts on beginning his career with MLS before heading to Florida.
Q. What are you thoughts on beginning your professional career in MLS?
It is a dream come true because I always wanted to play soccer at the high level since I was little.
Q Are you happy to have a guaranteed contract as a 2010 Generation adidas signee?
Yea of course I was because it is the first step into my career and will need to prove myself.
Q. With all the MLS SuperDraft happenings, will you still keep a focused eye on Cameroon at 2010 African Cup of Nations?
Yea of course because it is my country and I hope that we win it.
Q. Out of Gabon, Zambia, and Tunisia who will be toughest test in the group stage?
I think it will be Tunisia because they have a good team.
Q. When you stepped up for the first PK in the national championship, what was running through your mind or was it clear?
Nothing really because I'm used to taking a pk and I'm always confident about it. That's why I always take the first one.
