Q. Do you feel the level of competition in the Big East has prepared you for the jump to the pro level?
- Yes. The Big East has certainly prepared me in some ways for the pro's. Defense is one spot that I think helps the Big East separate itself from a lot of the other conferences. Although the next level will be full of bigger, faster, and more athletic defenders, the Big East has some of the toughest defenses that you will see across the country. The speed of the game will be the one major thing that all college players have to adjust to and you can only adjust to that speed once you are in a professional game.
Q. How have you begun to prepare for the MLS Combine?
- I have been working out as best I can. It is tough training in the weather that we are experiencing in New Jersey but I did go down to Florida after exams to do some training in the nice weather and have been working out at some indoor facilities and running on treadmills at home.
Q. After some time off, how is your first touch?
- Its going to be a little rusty because there is no real comparison to touching the ball in a game but I have done some ball work and hope that it will all come together during the combine.
Q. Is there anything that you have really worked on prior to the combine?
- My fitness is what I have focused on the most coming in to the combine. It will be interesting to see how it translates once we are running in the heat but I have been running a good amount.
Q. Growing up, is there a player that you patterned your game after?
- A lot of the things I learned growing up just came from the players around me and not so much a professional player. The most important things I would pick up would be from different teammates during practices and games.
