23-year-old Defender Nedum Onuoha, a regular starter for boss Steve Bruce, has noted that he would be willing to join Sunderland full-time. He is currently on a year-long loan at the Stadium of Light due to the surplus of defenders at Manchester City.
The former England Under-21 international has enjoyed his time with the Black Cats and while leaving City would be difficult, the allure of first-team minutes might tip the balance in the favor of a move to Sunderland.
"Leaving Man City was probably the most difficult decision I have had to make so far in my career," said Onuoha when speaking with the U.K. media.
"It got to a point where, if I wanted to play regularly, I needed to go out on loan."
"It was difficult to leave, but I didn't really have any other option."
