Ajax: Transfer Rumours - Martin Jol Keen To Bring In Real Madrid's Rafael Van der Vaart

Ajax front-man Martin Jol is keen to bring back Rafael Van der Vaart after the former Ajax star endured a horrific second-half at Real Madrid.

Jol who recently was appointed at Ajax wants to return the club to its right place among the pantheon of global football giants.

Rafael Vad der Vaart's Real Madrid stats from the 2008-09 La Liga season -- 15 starts, 17 substitutions, 5 goals, 6 assists, 58 shots, and 20 shots on goal.

Jol worked with Van der Vaart before and keeps in contact with the forward, so he is aware of the Dutch internationals troubles at the Santiago Bernabau. Jol commented to Germany daily Bild.

"I am always in contact with Van der Vaart," Jol said.

"I have great respect for him and know that he is in a difficult situation at Real Madrid."
