Liverpool flops want success "so much"

At times this season, and at the end of the last Premier League campaign, it seemed for all the world that Liverpool's form was suffering as a result of more than a few names who didn't appear to want to wear the shirt.

With Fernando Torres and Ryan Babel receiving the majority of the criticism in this respect, even established first team players weren't spared from accusations from those regularly placing a free sports bet of not trying hard enough to win crucial games or do the job efficiently against lesser opposition.

However, remarkably, beleaguered boss Roy Hodgson has stated that the reality is almost the precise opposite of many pundits' assumptions, with the Liverpool manager stating his concerns that a few of the players are trying too hard to recover their form and state their claims for a berth in the starting line-up.

Last night saw Liverpool struggle to provide anything to keep the loyal Anfield faithful warm in an uninspired display against Utrecht and, whilst the game didn't mean anything to either side's chances of qualifying from their Europa League group, Hodgson would surely have been hoping for some of his stars to burst to life once again and prove why they were deemed worthy of being signed to a famous old club like Liverpool.

With those interested in the betfair free bet code stating that Joe Cole and Christian Poulsen in particular failed to do anything approaching that, Hodgson has revealed that their failure can be put down to wanting it "so much".

Although there may be "no lack of desire, commitment" and "effort" from the Reds players, that's no consolation for the long-suffering Liverpool fans whose desire to see their team make an impact in the league continues. They can now just hope that a game against Hodgson's previous club, Fulham, sparks them into life at just the right time this weekend.
