Spurs give another Milan date

After their heroics over their city neighbours, AC Milan are now the latest club to be in the sights of Tottenham Hotspur.

The London club were drawn against the Italian giants in the last 16 of the Champions League.

Given Spurs won their group they could have hoped for an easier draw - Chelsea got FC Copenhagen for example - but it does set up a mouth-watering clash for fans and neutrals alike.

Milan finished runners-up in their group, but the fact that group contained a rampant Real Madrid side negates any feeling that Milan have under-performed in the competition and the Champions League betting reflect that.

The presence of striking talent like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Alex Pato and Robinho in the Milan line-up means the Spurs defence, not exactly the most watertight in Europe this season, will be severely tested.

But such has been Harry Redknapp's attitude to the competition this year he will again send out his players to attack. They have scored at least two goals in every game in Europe this season, including the qualifier against Young Boys, and I see no reason why they can't carry that on against Milan. They have an array of attacking talent on offer - Defoe, Coruch, Ban Der Vaart, Bale, Lennon to name but a few - so why not use them? Anyone looking to bet on Champions League games involving Spurs should expect plenty of goals.

It is a refreshing approach to the competition and one that has seen them win many admirers over the past few months.

With away goals now coming into play Spurs will head to the San Siro to attack and I wouldn't be surprised if they head back to the Lane with a few away strikes in the bag to build on.
